Valentine and his mom Jacqueline started Valentine's Bowtique in 2019 as a way to share his love of bow ties and help his furry friends get a second chance or however many chances they need to heal & find a furever home. Like many rescue animals, Valentine entered the shelter as a kitten and then was surrendered back to the shelter as a senior. Shortly after Valentine's search began for a new home, he suffered a stroke and couldn't walk. It was because of the work of both his shelter veterinary team and his foster team, that Valentine got yet another chance to start over. Valentine went on to regain full mobility and live a magical 3 years with his foster mom turned legal mom and proudest mom in the world!
During his "bonus years", Valentine showed his gratitude to the animal shelter system by starting his not for profit business & advocating for shelter animals all while sharing his own rescue love story. Sadly, Valentine’s heart health deteriorated and on May 26th 2021, Valentine passed peacefully at his home in San Francisco at age 11. His proud mom keeps Val's bow tie legacy alive and continues her life's work enriching the lives of homeless animals and helping them get their second or third chance!
"Thank you for supporting important animal rescue and welfare efforts. Wear your bow tie proudly and with purpose and always paw it forward! "-With Love, Valentine Valentine pictured with the love of his life Jacqueline on December 2019.
Valentine's Bowtique was inspired by Valentine's 10th Birthday on October 8th, 2019! Valentine setup a bow tie making station for his 30 guests so they could personalize a bow tie to add to his collection! After the party, Valentine continued making bow ties and figured out a way to use them to give back to the rescue community.
